mousetrap 2.0

I prefer the old time traps with peanut butter on them
Ditto for me, but I use chocolate instead if peanut butter. Run it under hot water for a few minutes to soften it up, then jam it in. When it cools off it's hard enought that the little buggers really need to chew on it.

they don't need much to get in
Supposedly they can get through a 1/2 inch hole.

the hole they are using to get into the walls is one the builder drilled to run electrical wiring through the studs, so you can imagine how small this hole is (I would say around 1/2", if not less).

BSR: you think YOU are worried, lol, I am the one listening to their parties at night!

Get some of that expanding foam in a can and fill the hole up. Of coarse they might eat that stuff and like it.. lol

Dan,
How many mouses ;) do you have? It must be the cold they are trying to escape? I've never seen a single mouse in or around our house since we have lived (10 years). Now snakes outside are a different story.

The foam in the can doesn't really get all that hard. E, if you can get to the hole, maybe try mixing a tiny bit of cement and filling it. Dry wall mud would be easier, but if they're determined to make it to the party, they'll eventually get through mud.

I was able to get to one of the holes, I filled it with heavy duty paper towels (really compressed them in there), that seemed to have worked for now. I can't get to the hole that goes to the studs behind my side of the bed as it is too narrow right now, so I am going to catch them first, once I have them, seal the first hole they used to get in the house using sheetrock (the builder trimmed the sheetrock too short), then calk it etc, which will stop them from coming in. Then I will fill the holes in the attic going to our walls with a liquid concrete mix I have.

I left the motion sensors in the wall all year around, just in case (eventho I didn't think other mice would find the house as the house is in the middle of a big empty lot), and it spotted them a few weeks ago when we had our first snowfall. The house is only 2 years old, which is the frustrating part, but there isn't much you can do if the builder screws up.

cats can't crawl in the walls tho ;) I had another 'hit' tonight, but again the mouse escaped!! I threw out the old cheap batteries, and put in some e2 titaniums (designed for high drainage devices), so hopefully this will fix it, assuming the mouse will come back for a 3rd but final hit. These mice are tough!

That's great!!

I still think if Rupp sends you some snakes, they can crawl in the walls, eat the mice, and you won't have any mice to dispose of.
