Hey Guys,
As mentioned in post 8457, this topic has been covered without any good answer. It has been two years so I figure it is time to discuss again.
I would like to find an electric deadbolt that I can install in a wood door with a single core setup. I will use my Schlage Link handle to send a Z Wave command to also unlock the deadbolt automatically.
The electric deadbolt should NOT be fail safe NOR fail secure. If I lock it (manually or remotely), it should stay locked. If I unlock it (manually or remotely), it should stay unlocked.
Can you guys provide any advice?
In case you are wondering why I am trying to avoid fail secure or fail safe locks:
Fail-Secure deadbolts lock after a set amount of time, meaning I will probably get locked out when I go work in the yard.
Fail-Safe locks unlock if the power goes out (my paranoia thinks of looting news coverage during long outages).
Any help would be tremendous! I have been researching close to 25 hours and my head is about to split!
