New ELK M1XSP and M1XEP Software Upgrades

hey spanky.. i made another thread about this this a little further down, .. i know you guys and gals over at elk must be hard at work on lots of other updates to the elk M1XSP.. but i have a problem with the driver for the RadioRA interface, i have a 10 button switch, but the driver only allocates 5 buttons (the one's i want to use for lights) as being able to be controlled by the elk.. any way i can get a driver update put on the list to be able to use a 10 button master controller, or possibly even a 15 button one in case i get on down the road ?

thanks!

Hi, Spanky

The system did not complete during the firmware update to the latest for M1gold.
The keypad #1 (only one hooked up so far) says “Lost Commâ€.

Can access the Ethernet module and RP connects to that but going to the control panel it is a no go.

Please advise…

Reprogram the M1 upgrade. The status led will be blinking in a two blink sequence if the M1 is running in the bootloader. You should be able to connect through ELKRP when running in the bootloader. If that does not work, use a direct serial cable, probably a USB to RS232 cable and connect.

4. Found and resolved an issue with the Java webserver application that caused the display of Outputs to be sized too
small to view on MacOS systems.
Is that the only issue with MacOS accessing M1XEP? I can get to the basic page, but have never been able to get past - it tells me "Control Unavailable - retry?" repeatedly... never made it past.

Todd,

I had this same issue. I resolved it by turning off the password/login for the webpage. It now works fine, albeit a little less secure. There is still the user code of course. If someone wants to disarm your security system or turn your lights on and off badly enough to find and hack your page, there are many other things they can do to you. Of course this doesn't apply if you are a celebrity, live in a McMansion targeted by pros or are protecting a bank.

I'd second this, but I can understand why it is limited when I looked at how many addresses are being used for different things. I use the first 5 buttons as inputs(do things that also send signals to the ELK), and the rest to control lights. I found that the button presses don't get sent unless there is at least one device controlled by the button, so they are not so useful as remote controls for the ELK. For pure lighting control you can use phantom buttons or rules, assuming you don't change your scenes too much.

Hi,

The Snd/Rcv is grayed out. Is there a way to connect other than with the usb/RS232?
How about through the phone jack just below it?

All the RS232 connectors I have are female which makes perfect sense since "systems" like computers all have male connectors on them,
so it is not logical that Elk would use a female connector.

Any suggestions?

If Snd/Rcv is greyed out, you need to open the account first. Then Snd/Rcv will show up.

Double click the account in the left tree view to open it.

Hi,

Thanks... I wasn't able to get to the system so no connection was possible.
I dragged a pc to the elk and connected the RS232. The Firmware was gone so I reinstalled it. All is ok now... Thanks
