Since it has SLI, the comment about PCI-Express is correct. There are no SLI boards using AGP as far as I know (which I just looked up the model and confirmed).

Its good you got the AMD based one, I was looking at Intel based SLI boards a little while back and there were many problems with them. The AMD ones were stable though (the intel ones may have been fixed, this was when they first came out). A lot of nice features on that type of board.

Nope, you are getting the two boards mixed up. I wasn't clear. The Abit board is the SLI one, and it's going to be saved for playing with later. It would be silly to use a SLI board in a non-graphics appplication like HS.

I'm talking about the Asus P4P800 SE, which is the one I'm going to use for HS. It is definetly AGP. I think the voltage answer is the correct one, as the specs mention it only supports the lower voltage card. I tried resetting the CMOS to use the VGA without success, so it looks like I'm going to have to go find the cheapest lower voltage card available.

It's funny. After building my own PCs for 15 years, I should remember how fast technology changes. But now after around a 5 year halt, I find myself amazed on how fast things change.

It definitely is the voltage issue, I thought you were talking about the Abit, sorry. From the specs:

- 1 x AGP 8X/4X (0.8V, 1.5V only)
- 5 x PCI
- 1 x ASUS Wi-Fi slot for optional wireless LAN upgrade
