Hopefully it will only change for the better, but, I switched to nextalarm because I was not happy with my previous provider (monitronics), so I can always switch again if I have to.

I'm very happy with NextAlarm. For my 2 years stay with them, I had 0 problems. When an alarm is activated, even if I am within the boundary, they still do a courtesy call. :blink:

However, I'm a little sad with my NextAlarm monthly fee. I was at $8.99 per month and now am at $14.99 something.

satellite communication of alarm panels. "All LaserShield systems, from this
point forward, will all have satellite capabilities," he said. The NextAlarm.com
division will develop the technology to allow alarms to transmit a signal over
two-way satellite, he said.

Well that would be one way to ensure alarm transmission to the monitoring station. No phone/data lines to cut, etc.

I wonder how much that will cost :blink:

Exactly! There should be an option for customers to stick with their existing proven/reliable solution and not force the customers to change or charge customers for those new technology update that some customers doesn't really need at all.

If it happens, I might unsubscribe. I'll just put more solid locks just like how our grand fathers used to lock their homes. Even without third-party monitoring, I will be able to enjoy my ELK's automation features!!!

Glad I saw the other thread. Someone mentioned safemart.com. I'm going to inquire about it tomorrow. $9 is a really good deal.
