No Caddx Wireless Supervision :-(

I'm using an Elk M1G with a Caddx wireless receiver, and Caddx wireless transmitters.

The transmitters enroll fine and trigger an alarm fine.

They are set to 'normal supervision', the zones are set to 0=EOL Supervision/RF, and the receiver is set to supervision at 24 hours on non-fire zones and 4 hours on fire zones.

There are no entries in the log relative to the wireless transmitter supervision. I do not get any low battery or lost transmitter indicators.

I had one disappear (likely a low battery), but the system continued on as if it was still present.

I've deleted and re-enrolled transmitters, with no change.

Anyone seeing what I may have overlooked, or where the next troubleshooting step might be?

Thanks!

Assuming a 548E unit:

Normal RF should be set to 12 hours, 24 is too far apart.

Are all the devices crystal (non-SAW)?

What are the LED's on the 548 doing?

You might have the receiver located in an area subject to interference or the signal being blocked (metal, foil backed insulation, ductwork, etc.)

I'm pretty sure it is an NX-448.

I'll set the RF to 12 hours.

They are mostly all crystal (NX-454), and a couple of SAW (water sensor).

The BUS LED is flickering very actively, and the RX LED is blinking when a transmitter is tripped.

There is some metal ductwork on the other side of the wall from where it is mounted....I hadn't considered that.

If it were a reception issue, wouldn't they all be reporting as lost? Or does a transmitter need to have a number of check-ins before they can be considered lost?

Thanks!

I can't remember the specifics for rounds of supervision, but I swear I read something somewhere. The LED's sound correct.

A reception issue may or may not affect multiple devices, not to mention any changes in enviroment since the original install. A device may be directly over the panel and not report, but a device further away may.

Are the devices that are going missing SAW?

No....none of them go missing.

I don't see anything in the log indicating that they are reporting in (I thought I read that it would show there); and it seems if one gets lost, I only figure it out when it doesn't activate the chime or alarm.

I'm not convinced that the receiver is really is really supervising the transmitters. If nothing else, I thought I might try the Elk receiver if I can't figure it out.

The Caddx receiver is a leftover from my old Networx system. I just kept it with the Elk because it was compatible.

Thanks for your help!

I only remember the 548E being compatible, but not 100% sure on the first ones prior to the 548E's. Maybe it's time for a call over to Elk.
