Nuvo Grand Concerto - no sound

Hi there,

I have a Nuvo Grand Concerto (firmware 2.57) and the T2 FM/AM (firmware 2.03g).

In my old house one of the amp cards stopped working, so i simply didn't use it. I mothballed the kit for two years and just recently reinstalled it in a new house.

I forgot it has a 120v only power supply in the GC and when I plugged in 220v the fuse blew. No big deal, I replaced the fuse, added a step-up converter and all looks well - except no sound!

Everything else seems to work fine: One keypad (firmware 2.57) is connected and works fine. I can download the GC settings using the Concerto Configurator (v2.57), modify them and re-upload them and I can see that the changes are made on the keypad. I can query the status of the Concerto using HyperTerminal Private Edition. I see the 8 zone green LED's light up when they should in Party Mode, and I can select the zones individually. I have tried both T2 sources and connected a CD player line out. Nada.

I only tested one keypad and four zones. Should I experiment more with more keypads or switch around the amp cards internally? Is it really possible that all 6 amp cards blew when I zapped the fuse? Why would the 8 green LED's show if an amp was dead?

Thanks in advance.

Time to call Nuvo Tech Support I think...

If the processor and such is still good (like it sounds it is) i would imagine that the AMPS should be good too..but who knows..

Are you positive you have all the settings right? Maybe they got their settings wiper when the unit took a hit..

Hi Ewiz,

Just saw you post as i am having exactly the same issue. Plugged a 110 v in to 240v, changed the fuse, used a step down  transformer but no sound.

Did you get a resolution ?

Many thanks

Peter
