Omnipro ii Power LED Doorbell and ring through HiFi2

I think the doorbell button probably has the LED with a series resistor connected in parallel with the doorbell switch contact.  When the switch is open, the LED conducts enough current to light it up, but the voltage drop across it and the series resistor is not enough for the panel input to sense it as a contact closure. That would explain the 10V loop measurement.

Can those inputs act as an analog in instead of digital input?  Can you setup a rule that triggers on the drop when the button is pushed?
 
I guess I'm confused by his (normally open) switch symbol in the drawing he provided above.

Yes... there are only two wires.  The loop, goes from 124 (Secure) to 0 (Not Ready) when the button is pressed (and held), which does trigger an event.  I must have had a different set up when I saw 10 on the loop.  Not to get off on another topic, but do you know what the secure/not ready threshold is on the loop?  Is 124 on the edge?  All of the rest of the zones are 125-128.  Just wondering if I am at risk of false triggers at 124.

I use an Elk myself, so not sure on your other questions. 
 
One other thing.  Can you set up a zone for a 'fast loop response' so it can detect a quicker transition?

Yes, the light turns off when the button is pressed.  I'm still new to the OP 2, but I'm pretty sure there's no way to make it trigger faster.

Did you ever get this to work? I am looking to do the same thing as you - use an led pushbutton to trigger sound through HiFi 2 with OmniPro II (new construction no other doorbell hardware).
 
I searched for an led pushbutton that has 2 sets of terminals (4-wire, one set for the light and another for the contact when pushed), but I couldn't find one.  All I've found so far are 2-wire led pushbuttons.

Noticed an issue with the above mentioned LED doorbell button.  Maybe because of the style of the LED doorbell button.  Many folks touch it rather than push the button. This doesn't trigger the doorbell.  Wondering if they make just touch LED doorbells that use capacitance switching or similiar?
 
Googling did find a "touch doorbell".
