Omnipro II Serial Interface with Vista Panels

Hello All,
I am still trying to find an option for all of my unhappy ADT customers with Vista panels and 5800 wireless devices all around the house.  I have looked into the converters that are available, but the ADT wireless has a special code with it that will not let it work.  Is there a way to interface with the Honeywell Vista serial and get all the data from the existing security system into the Omnipro II???  then I could either use the Vista as a slave panel and arm and disarm it with a keyzone.  Monitor all the zones and get control on the touchscreens through the Omni.  Any feedback would be much appreciated.
Thx
Frank

Hate to say it but you're massively misinformed.

The 5800 series RF is the same as off the shelf Honeywell product available at common distribution.

No converters are necessary and actually the panels can be reprogrammed to any CS.

If you're dead set on throwing parts at your customer's expense, a 1:1 for a Vista would get away from ADT's OEM programming for $100 at trade. Moving into an Elk M1 would be a new platform or you can get Resolution's translators for everything but life safety applications (fire/CO).

If you can't reprogram the panel you can always put a dialer capture cell in and make the account more secure, increase your RMR and not have to replace a single item.

Out of all of these, putting a slave panel in would be the least desirable and literally one of the more ridiculous suggestions out there. Honestly, if you offered that to me as a professional I'd laugh before I asked you to leave.

Thanks for the response, let me help keep you informed.  I spoke to Resolution Products and the wireless devices and receivers that ADT uses will not work with their translator, there is an added code or digit that will not work.  And I guess you didn't understand the layout, the customers' have Vista 128 BPT panels installed and working with about 30 - 40 wireless contacts and devices.  If you read my post, I wasn't suggesting to put in a slave panel.  I wanted to install an OmniPro II panel to integrate the Radio RA2 lighting and thermostats, Speco cameras with new touchscreens and preferrably the security system too.  I wanted to turn the Vista panel into a slave and keep it like it is, using the RS232 interface to monitor and control it from the OmniPro II and SnapLink app.

And I didn't know that, actually the panels can be reprogrammed to any CS.

Anyway I don't see Honeywell or Leviton/HAI on your list of panels you work with so I will wait for a better informed response.  As for a ridiculous suggestion, maybe you should throughly read the post before responding.
Thank You,

Thanks, giansiro
I got your email about the Resolution Products RE224HG translator and actually that one is the RE224GH which is GE to Honeywell.  I just got off the phone with one of their engineers and the Honeywell to GE is a model # RE124HG, this unit translates Honeywell 5800 series wireless to GE.  This will not work with ADT brandeed 5800 series devices.  He said they are including some kind of encryption with the transmission and it will not work.  This includes other ADT branded wireless, they may look the same but will not enroll.  So I do appreciate your knowledgable feedback, we all do learn something every day.  As I was saying in my original post I am still exploring a way to RS232 serial connect to the panel.  Resolution's engineer said their gateway which hooks to the station bus will not work with their panels either, so ADT has locked their panels up pretty tight.  Anyone come up with another idea, please let me know.
Thanks again for the feedback.

No, but I worked for ADT/Tyco for 13 years and my information is actual world experience. I am also still in contact with coworkers that are still in the trenches daily as I work with larger sites and platforms.

To the OP: There is only so much room for what products I have experience with and also commonly install and service. If you would like a product list and related certifications, send me an email address and I'll provide a resume. It's easier for me to say what products I don't work with at this point in the industry.

The devices come out of OE Honeywell boxes with Honeywell part numbers, same as ADI. Their 5800 series RF works on OEM and common distribution Honeywell panels. The is only one wireless system that was "branded" and it is NOT Honeywell, it is a company that ADT purchased a very large market share in to remove them from the open distribution via the CATV service provider channel. The only RF that is branded would be those connected to the Cadet series of Focus panels that were developed before the Tyco/ADT split. Their version of the V20P and V128 has proprietary firmware in it, that's it. They install a 5882 on it, that's all (Canadian compatible version of a 5881).

If ADT is encrypting their signals then that would bea very recent change as a knee jerk response to an article that was published about the "insecure" nature of the wireless devices on the market today. If you have that many panels out there that had been installed recently, then I'd be surprised and amazed as that kind of change would require a significant modification of the software on the chips affecting their other Vista platforms as well (Lynx, 20P, etc.) and there would be a subsequent public filing via the FCC for acceptance of the new devices as they can't be installed without the FCC signoff (EXAMPLE LINK) https://fccid.io/CFS8DL5890AP#exhibits

Here's a link to EVERY device that Honeywell has a FCC id for: https://fccid.io/CFS

I do not see any recent FCC filings for ADT, Tyco, Honeywell or Ademco for any of the devices that would be commonly installed on a Vista wireless install.

It sounds more like you are referring to their "pulse" series of devices and not Honeywell.
