OP 2 Interior Horn Question

I have a small piezo horn connected to the interior horn output on the OP2.

I am trying to use it to chirp based on a push button event and it does not work for me in burglar mode.

It does make a sound if I set it to a general purpose output.

Is there a way to use the sounder for both burglar mode and sounder mode?

You can do it two ways. You can just connect it to the general output, then create a rule to make it go off when the alarm is triggered, or you can connect the sounder to two diodes, with one connected to the alarm output and the other to the general output.

I did the same thing for the external sounder.  I wanted the outside horn to go off if someone opened an outside gate, but I really didn't want the alarm to go off. Even with the diodes, the panel still saw the sounder there, if you happen to have the monitoring turned on.

There is a chirp on arm setting, but if you want one other times, the best you can do is turn the output on for a second, but that may be too long. Possibly add a capacitor in series for a quick chirp. Your going to have to experiment. If you are adventurous you could build a little timer trigger.

Thanks Ano.

Ran 22/4 for the wall interior alarm sounder and it is using a tiny piezo sounder.  I could just connect a second sounder inside of the current one.

This is all related to my repositioning of the old keyboard consoles, Omnitouch 5.7 and Omnitouch 5.7e screens in the house.

I am using console beeps for exterior PIRs which work fine with Omnitouch 5.7's and keyboards but not with the Omnitouch 5.7e for whatever reason.  (IE: daytime it is TTS and nightime they are low volume beep alerts).

I had an HAI Omnitouch 5.7 (serial) in the master bedroom and replaced it with an Omnitouch 5.7e.  If I send out console beeps only the Omnitouch 5.7's or HAI keypads work with sent out console beeps.  IE: regular exterior door console beeps work fine which doesn't make any sense to me.

Is there a recommended console beeper that I can purchase that I can connect to the OP2 panel?

That and using Homeseer tabletops on night stands which do work sort of with the screens in off mode.  I get a low level audio buzz on some of these with audio enabled.  I do not know why as I have tried different power sources.
