Outdoor LED bulbs

I ordered three more Cree LED lights for my living room, and then after I replace the bulbs in my kitchen, I want to replace my porch lights with LED bulbs. Does anyone use LED bulbs outside? These lights are under a roof and are just normal bulbs (not floods), I think 65 watt, but I don't recall off hand.

Does anyone know of a good outdoor LED light?

If they are recessed, the Cree LR6 bulbs are rated for damp (not wet) applications. I have tried a few different LED "bulb" lamps and don't have any that if could recommend comparing them to the Cree units. There isn't much that I have seen that will give you the output of a standard 65 watt bulb with good color temp.

I have been using MR-16 LED 3 watts for my yard lights and LED's in my kitchen and family room for about 1 year now. Do you have any pictures?

I use the CREE LR6 inserts on my back porch cans. Is long as they don't get wet, I don't see any problem.

Are you guys using these outdoor lights as accent lights? I haven't found an LED that puts out more than what appears to be about 30 watts.

The lights I am replacing are ceiling fixtures with regular light bulbs in them. I don't want really bright lights, just enough light to see what you're doing at night and provide a nice warm glow. And lower electrical use of course.

The Cree LR6 lights put out about 70 watts of incandescent light and use about 10 watts.

I'm using warm-white 14W CFL's that cost me $5; for the price of a Cree, it's going to take a loooooooong time before the Cree pays off...

If I can get a 5W though, I'd be pretty tempted, considering my 4 outdoor lights are on about 12 hours/day.

I recently replaced my front door light fixtures (the old brass plated ones had tarnished) and while I was at the building supply store picked up some LED bulbs for them. That was at Menards... but LED bulds are even at Walmart now-a-days.
