My cable company made me upgrade my cable modem. The old one had a built in router with wifi. It was in the basement and it didn't have a very strong signal, so I installed a separate wireless access point on the first floor. The new cable modem came with a separate router. I installed everything and ran the included setup program. I tried to change the network id and password to match what the old one was. Something changed because when I tried to connect to the basement wifi from my iphone it asked me for a password. I was expecting it to recognize it as the same old network and automatically connect.
All of my wifi devices (iphones, laptop) work fine on the first floor wifi. No hardware changes there. The wired desktops and TV also all have network connectivity and internet access.
The problem is that I can't get to my HAI OmniPro IIe using PC Access 3 on my laptop. I tried the wifi connection which worked fine before the modem/router upgrade and I also plugged a network cable into the laptop. Still no good. I also can't get to it from SnapLink Mobile on my iPhone. I tried both the wifi connection and also over my 3G network.
Any thoughts anyone?
Thanks in advance for the help.
