To control X-10 directly from a PC I would normally choose a powerlinc. Is there a equivalent device that uses USB instead of a serial port. Seems like there are if I was using Insteon. Will the Insteon device work with X-10?
Unless I'm missing something, I use a USB PowerLinc. It's X10 performance is not that hot, though, and I believe that it does not support extended X10 commands.
The 1132CU still on the Smarthome web site? It is USB and is X10 only. I didn't check to see if the web page showed stock condition. http://www.smarthome.com/1132cu.html

The 1132U that was USB and had no internal controller to store stuff was nice if you only wanted 24/7 computer connected. I believe that one is discontinued.
