We had a new house built in 2000 and I wired the house for security and whole house automation. I did the research and decided to purchase and install an OmniPro system myself, as there are no dealers anywhere close. After talking it over with HAI I decided to upgrade the controller so that I could use my IOS telephone to check the system, and take advantage of other upgrades. I was led to believe it would be a pretty straight forward installation, as the consoles, thermostats, etc. were compatable with the new board. In the meantime I obtained a copy of PC ACCESS, version 3, to replace my old version.
I removed the old board yesterday, and installed the new LTe board, using the instructions in the Installation Manual, but basically just installing everything in the same location as the old board. I powered up the new board, per the instructions, and everything powered up as advertised, so I installed the network cable and plugged it into my D-Link router. Installed the new PC ACCESS software and generated a new file, updated all the necessary files (consoles, phone numbers, zone names, etc.), and downloaded them to the controller. I currently have a simple system--two consoles, one Omnistat thermostat, and 15 fire/burglery zones.
First, the good news. PC ACCESS is talking to the controller during uploads and downloads (or appears to be). Both consoles are powered up, display the correct day and time, and read "System OK". The Omnistat thermostat appears to be operating correctly.
Here's a couple of problems I have discovered so far---first, with the system not "armed", when I activate a burglery zone, by opening a door or window, etc., the console's do not display a "Not Ready" (i.e., "Deck Door Not Ready"). Likewise, when the system is armed and a door/window opened, the system does not alarm.
Secondly, when I attempt to arm the system in the "Away" mode, the system goes through the programmed exit delay time, the light on the panel turns from green to red and then "arms" only in the "Day" mode. I have not yet tried arming the system in all the other modes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I try various troubleshooting ideas.
