Ra2 is a game changer - i have the hook up

Let me start by saying that i am in the business of selling Ra2. I am an electrical contractor, I have been trained by lutron to install and program Ra2, and I want to share this technology with as many of you as possible. Ra2 is in my opinion a turning point in lighting control. I have experience with multi-million dollar homes that have typically used lutron homeworks for lighting control. Usually there have been no more that 50 or 60 loads controlled by the homeworks system, at a cost in excess of 25k. Ra2 can do that for a fraction of the cost. Ra2 has the same custom engraved keypads in a million different colors as homeworks. Ra2 integrates with your favorite systems like hai, amx, homelogic, etc. I would love to talk with any of you who are considering a lighting control system, new construction or retrofit. I can offer great prices as well as remote programming.

...as well as remote programming.

You can't remotely program directly from Essentials. Essentials locates the repeater via UDP broadcast. You can't (as yet) directly input an IP address for a repeater in to Essentials. You would have to walk through setup of a VPN with the end user.

ESB Electric, personally I'd like for you to discuss RA2 here in this thread, as much as possible, with potential clients, so that I can learn as much as possible.

Are you HW certified?

If I'm not mistaken, HW has more to offer in terms of keypads, and 'conditional logic'.

Did the Lutron reps mention if 'vacation mode' is available yet?

ok what would you like to discuss, i am obviously not hw certified, if so i would never mention ra2, and vacation mode dosent have to reside on the main repeater, your hai panel can take care of that as well as conditional logic, if im not mistaken, i am no authority, i am hoping that there are some others that are as excited as i am about this new technology and together we can answer all the questions

Vacation mode is not available yet, still just in the "pipeline". The hybrid keypad will be available in June. No date yet on the upcoming RA2 thermostat.

More like $15,000-17,000 installed depending upon the configuration (60 zones, 10 WPMs, 15 keypads) and actual floorplan of the home (in HW4).

The last Homeworks home I did had 55 keypads, 5 panels, 40 RPMS w/ around 160 loads (HW8).

I imagine that the cost for a RA system w/ 60 loads and 15 keypads would be similar aside from the labor for pulling control cable. Given new construction/exposed studs HW4 would probably be preferable.

im looking at a price list for a rrd-h6brl and it says 449 retail, maybe that was a mistake, but im just passing along the info i have received, also it is only 450 watts so again i would rather cut in a bigger box

i have yet to see a hw4 install so i cant comment on that, i know what a builder that i work with has paid, and i know it is much more than 15-17k for hw8, also there is the additional cost paid to the electrical contractor to run all 12 wire switch legs back to the homeworks panels

HW8 and HW4 are fundamentally different when it comes to wiring. HW4 is a distributed system whereas HW8 is centralized. There are no "switch legs" unless in a pure home run HW8 system.
