Hi Everyone, I'm building a new house and would like to incorporate home automation in the overall design. I have been reading the forums to get up to speed as the home automation project is going to be a DIY project. Right now I have a simple question - can you put the HAI Omnipro II controller horizontally in an rack system or does it need to be mounted vertically on the wall? Thanks!

I've never heard of anyone rack mounting one - if anything you'd have to find a tray or something to mount to - most likely a pull-out tray.
I would never recommend it though... I'm personally of the mindset that security should be somewhat isolated so it doesn't get screwed with - it should be locked up in a place you don't tinker with often. Not to mention - with the number of wires that'll get run to it, it just looks better in a nice in/on wall cabinet.
