Been running my Rain8Net Pro with the free program from WGL with no problems but that requires me to keep the Rain8Net connected to a PC via serial port all the time. I wanted to move control to my OPII and was using a set of instructions from HAI that shows several ways to do that. However, something must be wrong in my setup because it is not working. HAI instruction provided following:
- use 4 conductor straight thru cable from OPII to Rain8 (I am)
- Set serial 1 Baud rate to 4800 (I did except that except that I am using serial port 4 on the OPII)
- Set Serial function to Pro-Link (I did)
When I run the program, it kills the Rain8Net Pro (status light goes out) and no further action results. The fact that the Rain8 goes dead when I activate the program suggests that the above settings are correct and some type of signal is indeed being sent to the Rain8. However, the only signal I am sending is the standard Zone ON or OFF signal such as @#1 or @#A
Is anyone else driving their Rain8 from an OPII? Did you experience this? What did you find wrong?
