Recommendations for serial controlled video switching - security cameras

I have been using my Xantech ZPR-68 to switch my security cameras for years now but for the second time since I have been using it the unit is misbehaving. Serial control has completely died and IR is proving to be unreliable. So, does anyone have any recommendations on serial controlled video switching? Cameras are all composite video, currently I have 8. Thanks.

I use a standard serial controlled matrix switcher. You can pick up nice Autopatch or Extron unit for pennies on the dollar.
