Hello All,
There are plenty of opinions here on what the best cameras are, so I thought I would ask you all what you would recommend for my installation requirements.
I'm looking for a CCTV camera to install near my front door. The installation site I have selected for the camera is about 20 feet away from the front door, and would cover the front door and front porch / sidewalk.
I'm would like to keep the price of the camera around $200 or less.
Here is what I think are the requirements for the task:
1. Very light sensitive!
2. Bullet Camera - I would like to keep the installation low-profile.
3. IR Sensitive - I may use a separate IR illuminator. I don't want IR LEDs on the camera itself since that increases size and the image may get washed out if something gets too close to the IR Leds. I have another bullet camera that is NOT IR sensitive, so that I why I specify IR Sensitive as a requirement.
4. 480 lines of resolution or better. My DVR records at 640x480, so I don't think anything more than 480 will really improve the image.
5. Weatherproof - the camera will be installed outdoors (but it will be in a covered location)
6. Color - I don't have a real security reason for wanting a color camera - I just like to see images in color I guess. If there is a really good B&W camera that will meet my purposes, I would consider it.
Thanks,
Fritz
