Reset Ademco Panel

Hey guys,
I was wondering how to reset a Ademco Vista 50P panel to its factory defaults. I just want to erase all codes and custom words from the panel. I know there is a easy way to do this but am having trouble figuring it out. Thanks for your help.

Go into the programming mode and punch in *97

if installer code is unknown, power down and power back up then press both # and * at the same time within a minute. you should be in programming... Ademco and first alert panels will start in the installer code field ( either 00 or 20 depending on panel) to read the current value press # then field (#20 or #00 respectively) I usually write down the installer code and add it to my arsenal of installer codes then if need be I *97 and/or *96 (whichever I want)

If that doesn't work and panel is "locked out" then try power down and have someone hold # and * while you power up .

You can not affect user codes short of *97 (wipeing out all codes and making user 2 (master code) 1234 and installer code default value for panel type.

P.S.
on larger panels (vista 128 or FA 1600 and such) *96 not only initializes downloading (Account # & CSID) but also will wipe out zoning. I found this out the hard way and had to go out in the field and get all serial numbers which weren't all there... made a 15 minute service call end up taking 4 hours of finding people with keys and trying to suck up serials from devises that were missing the sticker... (major OOPSIE!!!)
