Send a command directly to a OPII serial port.

I probably already know the answer but it doesn't hurt to ask.
Is there any way to send a command, using Elve but I'm looking 'in general', from a software front-end directly to a serial port on the OPII?
I'll give my reasoning. Just automated my blinds. I want to be able to send a "close all" or "open all" command but the limited message size in the OPII is preventing it. I can send the command from Elve but I don't want to have the transmitter connected to Elve, I want it connected to the OPII as it is now. So I want to be able to send it from Elve, directly out the serial port on the OPII. Are they accessible?
Also, I know I can use multiple messages and send them all in the automation blocks, and this is likely what I'll end up doing, but I'm trying not to.

Serial port data handling is woefully lacking in the OPII.  You cannot do what you are looking to do.  You might want to set up the strings in the OPII to do what you need, then create button macros for handing "open all" and "close all".  You ca then trigger the buttons from Elve.
