I have some X10 Lightolier CC600VAPLC switches that I want to install into a 3 way setup. The light I want to control has 5 switch locations. Does anyone know if there is a special slave switch for these switches? I found this pdf on them but still not sure how to hook them up. http://www.lightolier.com/MKACatpdfs/27692.PDF

In the pdf it looks like you just use the same switch for the slaves.

Hello Cast007,

This is your typical good news/bad news response.

The good news -
Lightolier does use slave switches for multi-way circuits. It's referred to as a "CPR3" and is shown on page 7 (left side graphic) of the PDF you referenced.

The bad news -
You may have problems finding any of these - particularly for a 6 way setup.

I don't have personal experience with the Compose series, but they were considered rather "high end" for their time. That time has passed and there isn't a lot of technical documentation left.

I found the following on programming: Lightolier Worksheet

Most slave switches of that era simply toggled the "yellow remote" input to the load controlling switch. This signaled the unit to turn on/off. If that is the case with the Lightolier line, a Leviton MS00r remote "Might" be compatible. These aren't particularly expensive and are still available (in colors).

Rather than take that risk, and rely on a master switch that really isn't supported or available anymore, you might think about changing t0 the Leviton HCM06 line.

If you are intending to expand your system in the future, I would further suggest that you look into a current communication protocol (ZWave, UPB, Insteon). It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish, and how long you want to maintain this system.

FYI, Martin mentioned that some slaves from various other platform (such as UPB) can be used as well.
