Sonesse RS485 Shades and HAI Challenges

Hi guys, trying to integrate the two... here is what I've done so far..... need some advice...(read most of the threads on here about it...) 
 
1) Created a make shift cable for the two RS485 A and B wires in Serial Port 1 (RJ25 end) to Power Distribution Panel (Used Cat6 Data ending)  This is essentially a 2 wired Serial to R485 cable).  I did not hook up any other wires... (bus power, ground, etc).   
1a) Tried that cable into both IN/OUT on the power distribution panel. Not sure which one its supposed to go into, but neither worked. 
2) Configured PC Access to have Serial Expansion #1 to Somfy ILT 
3) Entered Node ID's into PC Access of each shade. 
4) Hooked up Power Distribution Panel with MeanWell Power... (this machine is making a clicking sound, kind of like a pulsing sound, is this normal?) 
5) Hooked up wires at Shades... 2 for power, 2 for RS485 A/B... ignored the others... 
 
5) Sent command via PC Access -- NOTHING....

Have you set the jumper on the serial port you are using to RS485 position?

Yes on jumper and yes on that post.

Questions;
1. Does it matter that I have a cat6 rj45 end point going into the power disti panel?
2. Should the mean we'll be making the pulse sound. All the lights are green.

3. Can you tell me a little more about address conversion? PC access asks for a motor or group address. I chose motor and put in the node Id. But it does say hex number. Are those the same thing?

The node ID is a hex number found on the motor. You may need a straight-through cable, connecting pins 1 and 2 on the power IN jack to pins 1 and 2 on HAI port. I don't have any pulsing sound coming out of the meanwell.

can it be a 6 pin cable vs. 4?

The wire size does not matter, what you need is a straight connection between pins 1 and 2 on both sides. The standard voice cable should work

So put this in the dunce question.   I have the Node ID already (given to me by the manufacturer), however, HAI needs a ILT address instead so hence you need the configurator to make that conversion, is that right? 
 
And if so, i need a USB to Serial cable... with just wires on the Serial end, since you need to hook it into the motor wire?   Where does one buy one of those?

You do not need a cable to get the address conversion, just install the ILT software and click "Connect", it should work. Or post your node ID, and I can run it through mine to convert it for you

Yes, just entered these IDs into my somfy software, it returned the same adresses. Can you now control the shades from HAI?

Negative. I think it might have something to do with not enough juice on the DC bus power connection. I've seen two diagrams for plugs. One a 1amp and another that just 24v. Tried the 1 amp version. No luck. Don't have a 24v plug yet. Powering 10 motors.

Bus power is 9-12VDC and is not needed for RS485 motors, only if you are powering keypads or other devices off the bus.

Post your wiring connections and how you set the limits on the motors.

Each motor needs 1A @ 24V to power it, but RS485 connection will power from HAI. I would try to reduce the problem, and get one motor connected directly to HAI serial port. Take a patch cable that has connector on one end only, plug this end into serial port, notice which wires are connected to pin 1 and 2 and wire these directly to A and B wires from one motor. Try sending a command. Make sure that you have the limits set correctly as they may prevent the motor operation even if all connections are ok.
