Hi,

I hate to sound too cheap by is there an alternative to Leviton and Channel Vision enclosures to house an HAI Omni Pro and HAI HiFi?
I find $200+ for a simple metal box a little outrageous.

Thanks

Elk makes some too. What size do you need? The CV 50" cans are far less than $200, so you might want to look at other vendors. Automated outlet sells a 50" with a cover for $148. They have a leviton 28" with a cover for $79.

Have you checked any local suppliers in your area? It's the shipping costs that kill you on something like that. I would hope you could find a local supplier selling the 50" Channel Vision Can with door for less than $150.

Another option would be to call Setnet. They had the 50" channel vision on a big 40% off sale (bringing the price to about $75), but I would be surprised if they had any more in stock at that price since the sale started a back in January. But they still have the list on their web site, so you might get lucky. Again, shipping is also a factor and might run $50 or more if you live on the west coast.

What size panel are you looking for? I certainly found the Leviton panels at my local Home Depot for much cheaper than $200.

14" - $35 (SKU: 406-148)

28" - $60 (SKU: 481-067)

42" - I couldnt located the 42" on the website, but I have seen it in the store for $90 (SKU: 139-163)

Call Tony Stewart at SetNetPro.com, and ask him what cheap options are available.

Very friendly guy, and quite knowledgeable about lots of different brands.

He carries Elk, HAI, and Channel Vision - I think an Elk enclosure would be your best option. Which size? Ask Tony.

I bought the 50" CV from Tony only a few weeks ago - $90 shipped.

wow.. I love this forum!

Thank you all for your suggestions. I think a 42 inch would e good to house HAI HiFi and Omni Pro plus the battery. I will call up Tony and also check out other suggestions as well as Home Depot although our local Rona and Reno Depot (Home Depot competitors) didnt have anything.

Check out some of the other threads about compatibilityu between enclosures...they're not all equal..

Consider the primary type of modules you'll be using...I don't know what pattern HAI stuff is.

If you have choice between Channelvision and Leviton go with Channelvision for increased flexibility. Whatever fits in a Leviton fits in a Channelvision but not necesarilly vice versa.
