Terminal boards for WebControl

That is supported. WC32 using a 32bit processor, so that it can support PWM from few HZ to almost MHz.

Great, so I have to recheck my requirements before ordering, here is the wish list, some points you have promised and I will patiently.
- secure email account data
- communication stack purging command
- protected PLC
- restarting command (may be added on top in the applications)
- serial AT commands for a wifi piggyback
some nice amendments would be:
- allowing comment lines in the PLC
- adding ELSE as command
- including the terminal board in the webshop,
- PWM based 4 wire fan control logic
- increasing the containment (box)
- easing connection of 1-wire sensors
- RAM output
- 0.x default IP address range
- 12 bit AD
- remote patching
- energy saving snooze mode
- ack reply receiving webset commands sucessfully

Thanks for your email and suggestion. For WC32,  AT command on serial port will be implement later, due to we want to port the code to a new Microchip development platform first.  Its email already support SSL encrypted.

Maybe we should put anything related to WC32 into a separate discussion topic, leave this one for terminal board discussion.

I fully agree, plse disclose more about the WC32, so we may discuss that in a thread.

Dear rossw;

On your page, cantpostlink, I see you refer to 2 boards, a WebAmpV2 and a WebAmp+V2, or WebAmpPLUS board.  You also have a line "The WebControlV2 board is available either as...", which I think is a simple mistake, right?  should say "The WebAmpV2 board is available either as..."?  Or do I misunderstand and there is a third board?

So on the order page I assume the kits include the V2 board.  How does one get the WebAmpPLUS board?

Thanks in advance.

P.S.
Also there is a silly thing with shipping cost.  If I order one board it is ~2$ shipping.  If I order 2 boards it is ~20$ shipping.

So why would I not order 1 board twice?

The WebAmp+V2 or WebAmpPLUSv2 is only different in that it includes additional space for connectors for temperature sensors.
The boards are available as a kit-of-parts (I usually solder the amplifier on to make it easier for people, as it can be a bit small and fiddly), or as a completely assembled, tested and calibrated board.

I'm not sure where or why the Plus board has dropped off the online ordering selection! I'll look into that!

Finally, the stupidity with the shipping is because of our postage rates.
A complete kit for a single board is both thin enough, and light enough, to send as an airmail letter. (just! I have to fight for it at the post office though!)
Two kits are too heavy to send as a letter (maximum weight is 50 grams including packaging), and they jump up to international parcel rates which are roughly 8 times more expensive than a letter!
One board, assembled, becomes too thick to send as a letter (maximum thickness is 20mm including packaging).

Before I send either of these, do you particularly want the PLUS boards?

I don't particularly want the PLUS board.  I was just confused, and sought to clarify by writing things down.  Then that turned into a post with my questions.  And I thought you might want to know.

I just ordered 2 kits, in 2 separate orders to save on shipping.  You don't need to solder anything, as we do fiddly soldering as a matter of course.

Thanks. OK on the soldering, I'll get your kits in the mail today.

rossw,

I too am interested in purchasing the kit. Two questions, have you / are you working on a breakout board for the wc32? Secondly, maybe you can post your url onto your first post. I had to search thru a number of pages to find it.

Thanks,
Tim

Hi Tim, yes - the CAI guys and I are doing a WC32 terminal board. I believe a sample batch is being made now.
It has the same amplifier arrangement as my WebAmp board (except there are 8 channels, obviously).
We've also provided opto-isolated inputs, and some open-drain FET outputs.

Was so funny. I got to the counter this morning to post yours. The girl looked at the two identical letters, going to the same address and asked why I wasn't putting them together. Then she got this sheepish look on her face and I could see she worked it out. I said "Like this, they're $2.60 each and under 50 grams" ... and she looked at the scales (saying 36g) and finished it for me and said "but together they would be $18.60 or something... I understand!"

You might consider adding such a note on your ordering page.  It is literally cheaper to order 7 individually shipped boards than to use the parcel shipping.

Its like a tax on people who are bad at sums.

What I really need to do is make the code smarter, so it can detect if a parcel is THIN enough (ie, kits only), but over-weight, and add (x) lots of letter postage up until it gets cheaper to send it as a parcel. (Another of those things to do when I get 15 minutes free!)
