I am looking to add some perimeter security to my house. Has anyone ever installed Outdoor Photobeam Detectors at their home or business? And if so did they connect them to their home security alarms. I have a large area on my property that I am having vandalism issues I think this these Photobeams would be a great solution. Any input will be greatly appreciated!

Well obviously you wouldn't want to set off the main alarm when the beam is broken - especially if it is monitored and the police would be called out.

My initial thought is to place the perimeter on a separate partition or zone. Then you could have the unit trigger an "alarm" when tripped, but it would be different from tripping the real alarm in the house. Perhaps you could announce a warning when tripped. Something like, "warning - this is private property - please leave the premises. You are under video survelence." That combined with some dummy cameras set up would be very effective IMHO.
