UPB lamp modules gone bad?

I have 3 SA UML-20E lamp modules I bought last winter for controlling Christmas lights.  I set them up in Upstart and controlled them with my OPII.  All good.  At the end of the season I put them in a drawer and deleted them from Upstart.  Just pulled them out for controlling Halloween lights.
 
I can't seem to get Upstart to see any of them.  I have them in the same receptacle as the PIM, but tried others too.  Discovery does not find them when I plug any of them in.  Next I pressed the program button and they flash red as expected.  But then Upstart can't find them as Add Device.  A Read All finds everything on my UPB network but them.  No noise on the powerline.
 
When try and plug each one in I find two of them have the LED as solid green and one of them is solid red.  Pressing the program button makes all of them flash red until they eventually time out.
 
I don't have lots of experience with Upstart, but its pretty simple and never had a problem with it either.  Am I doing something stupid or did all 3 of these things die on me?

Try to reset / program lamp module next-close to to the UPB PIM. 
 
I have a few UPB lamp modules in place and have not had any issues with them.  I did at one time have a few off line then online and never had issues with them afterwards.

1 - Go to Upstart and remove lamp modules in question

2 - Move lamp module to same circuit or near the UPB PIM

4 - Reset the lamp module - do this first.
a - On the HAI UPB™ Lamp Module that you want to reset to factory defaults, press the pushbutton switch quickly 5 times.
b - The HAI UPB™ Lamp Module will flash the lighting load one time and blink its LED blue to indicate that it is ready to
be set to factory defaults.
c. Press the pushbutton switch quickly 10 times to reset to factory default setting.
d. The HAI UPB™ Lamp Module will flash the lighting load one time and blink its LED red to indicate that it has been reset.
e. - Press the pushbutton switch once more to stop the LED from blinking.

4 - Put the lamp module in setup mode
a - Press the pushbutton switch quickly 5 times
b - The HAI UPB™ Lamp Module will flash the lighting load one time and blink its LED blue to indicate that it is in Setup
Mode. Note: the lamp module will automatically exit Setup mode after 5 minutes.
 
I have X10, Z-Wave and UPB PIMs connected to my Leviton OmniPro 2 panel.  I did at one time go with the outdoor Z-Wave modules and UPB stuff and it was just a PITA.
 
That said today I am using Jeff Volp's TW-523 dual phased / amplifier emulator module.
 
I went back to using X10 for my Christmas lighting. 
 
Outdoors I am using the old Black and Decker outdoor Freewire modules which have worked fine now for many years. 
 
All my Christmas lighting is using one house code. 
 
I test it with an x10 wireless palm pad outside or OPII connected tablet and it turns on in sync just fine. (faster than Z-Wave).

Here's the procedure to reset the module to factory settings:
 
All devices may be put into factory reset settings by
doing a 5 tap, 10 tap and 2 tap. The 5 tap puts the
device in set up mode, the LED will flash green.
The 10 tap enters factory resets into the EPROM; the
LED will flash red or blue, depending on the device.
The 2 tap puts the device back into operating mode.
The usual next step is to 5 tap and attempt a set up from factory reset.

Thanks for the advice guys.  The 5/10/2 tap reset did the job.  Not sure why I had to do that, but after doing so I could add it in Upstart.
