I have been getting Uplinkloss & Uplinkrest almost everyday. Not sure what is going on. Will have to look at the log later.

Checked the log and not seeing anything in there??? Sometimes I get the alerts twice a day. Thoughts?

Would question the XSP dropping out. What would concern me is the system startup events and what caused those.

Also, investigate the power, where the uplink is getting fed from, the battery, etc. Keep in mind, the uplink needs a very robust supply that can put out like 2-3A briefly besides the nominal current draw the unit has. Could be as simple as a power supply issue, battery taking the supply down, etc.

DEL,

The system startup events were done by me when I turned the unit on/off. If the XSP dropped out, would ELK notify as XSP was missing instead of uplinkloss/rest.
I have installed a Altronix AL-624 which provides [email protected]. That covers more than double what Uplink requires 500mA max. I have also have a newer backup battery for the uplink.
Then again the uplink is in the basement. It could be just the cell signal? It had been working fine for a while and also within last last two weeks I have not received messages.

Uplink 4500EZ power requirement-
Power Requirements 12V DC
500 mA max on transmit
28mA Standby

Without digging through Uplink's tech side, if the 4500 is similar in design to the 2500 in any stretch, the unit briefly (miliseconds) draws upwards of 2A when it first starts sending a packet, so the general rule of thumb with Uplink is to oversize the supply to take the hit.

It could be the unit being installed in the basement....do you know the dBm values of the unit? That'll provide a bigger picture.

I'd consider the XSP, serial to the 4500, and power/signal to the 4500 as being in the realm of possible culprits.

You might want to consider a rule or two to send out based on what is actually happening, loss/restore/ etc. unless you tie a relay to an input to drive a log based item into the panel.
