Weather for PC?

Well I already have internet based weather in Now Playing. Which includes several animated radar screens. I was asking more for a friend than myself.

Thanks for the replies. I guess you get what you pay for.

And my radar screen. Selecting the buttons either side will bring up a different animated GIF grabbed off the internet.

Do you have a link for the WeatherChannel applet?

Rupp,
There's a thread on CQC about the WeatherChannel app. The URL is a bit long-winded because it can take many parameters. You'll also find JavaScript/HTML code to obscure parts of the map.

John,
Where can I get the attractive weather icons? The stuff I've found from TWC isn't nearly as pretty. Their thundercloud icon reminds me of a sweaty Cheech Wizard.
Thanks for the info. I overlooked this thread.

Rupp,

The applet discussed in the CQC forum has widgets that look like the ones in John's Roadrunner-based UI.

By adjusting the URL's parameters, you can adjust the geographic location, zoom level, and overall window size (and other things).

I incorporated this applet in my own Environment Canada weather application. EnviroCan provides more accurate forecasts for Canada but TWC's animated radar maps are far more attractive.
