WebMtn SW-7 "Load Response Time" setting

I have a Web Mountain UPB setup with several SW-7 controls. The default for the "Local Response Time" for the local load defaults to 750 ms. I'd like to decease this with the settings being 300, 450, 600. Is there any reason not to decrease this?
Thanks

The only reason not to decrease it would be acknowledging a double tap. If you use double taps and can't hit the paddle quick enough, that could be a problem. However, most people wouldn't have a problem with 300ms.

I may be a bit dense and not understand the point of the setting. I have the light set to activate with a single tap at 95% with a 0.8 fade. When I hit the switch, there's a noticeable lag before the light ramps up. Will shorting this to 300 ms decrease that, or is it something that I have to get used to?
Thanks,

Steve

Yes, shortening it will decrease that time. What Jamie was explaining is the difference between a single tap like you said you you and a double tap. A double tap is pressing the rocker top or bottom twice in 'rapid' succession. Many time people will use a single tap with a ramp like you have setup and a double tap for a snap - basically instant on like a regular light switch. If you never want to use the double tap feature then you want to make that delay as small as possible which will make the light react faster. But, if you do use the double tap feature, if you have the setting at the lowest, you may not be able to click the paddle twice fast enough to be considered a double tap. In that case you would need to increase that delay which is essentially the amount of time the switch will wait after one press to see if you are going to press again before it sends out the command. Hope that helps...

Got it, thanks that helped a lot. I WAS having a senior moment.

Nah, I think the folks that did UPB had a senior moment in designing the delay stuff the way they did. I don't recall ever having to setup my mouse delay period from the defaults in Windows. For me the UPB single tap happens almost 100% of the time and there for should work in the best way possible (e.g. short delay), I would much rather teach people that the need to double tap fast than explain why my fancy switches suck :)
