I have a few networked audio streaming devices on the network (each in different places in the home), NMT's (in different places) and HW (Russound).

Nuvo GC

MPS4 is really the only source component necessary, if you want 4 or fewer simultaneous sources.

I use two of the options, but I voted for a multizone hardware system because that is the actual hardware that I use (a B&K CT600). However, I use CQC/computer to both control the B&K CT600 (I don't have any keypads installed) and provide 4 of the sources via a multichannel sound card. So one system wouldn't really work without the other......

I use a 3 zone Denon amp - it doesn't really fit into your poll. If you don't need more than a couple of zones, upscale AV amps work very well.

Well I would probably have picked the PC based as it is the source and control through GUI.

MusicLobby PCs plus SageTV HD extenders controlled via MLSageTV / TCPServer.
ie: a blend of the survey choices.

SpeakerCraft MZC-88 with one input being a Squeezebox receiver that gets it's music from the PC and I can control with CQC. Also have 8 SpeakerCraft keypads controlling it which I can also capture with CQC and control other things too.

Its kind of interesting the way everyone is getting their zoned music.

I've seen a few HS users totally separate their HA audio TTS from their audio media playback (separate zones / speakers for TTS/Media) over the years. (even easier now with small in gang boxed or hidden speakers just for TTS saving the larger inwall MM speakers for just music).

Personally the way my system has evolved I guess I've been a been flippant over the years going from centralized and a computer (I still use Tversity) to distributed with unique local zones (which are still part of the House zoned audio) and one time playing with HS as my media player.

Historically then I've used HA HS / HAI to control the hardware where and what but not really too much relating to control of said media. (IE either audio or video details). I don't care to see the cover art / list of songs with any type of media playback. I do care about finding what it is I want to play within a couple of seconds whatever the media may be. Think I have around 150 Gb of a variety of different music and a few years back did the whole cover art thing etc - and it did look nice on the touchscreen but on the same note I liked programming 4 buttons to stream audio and only what I wanted to hear - seemed a bit easier/faster.

It would be nice though to use VR with some intelligence behind it...

Walking in the house and asking my HA computer what kind of mood I'm in and and having it look for music in response to my mood.

Still not where I want to be.

One more for Russound here.

My sources are 1) Sirius, 2) AM/FM, 3)DTV1, 4) DTV2, 5) Squeezebox, 6) Text to Speech PC

I use Russound with the main source being a PC, other sources CD,iPod,Blueray, Shaw cable feed..
Controlled by Music Lobby and HAL DMC. Russound has a builtin AM/FM tuner.
