Which OS for HA Computer

I went with the 2000 server for the moment. If it doesnt work out I will go with Media Center.

I should have it up and runnning tomorrow.

To my great disgust, you probably should think about staying away from W2K, as Micro$oft is starting to drop support for it. Got a message from them a few days ago about the change to daylight savings time, and noticed that the automated fix for W2K is only available with a service agreement. There's a manual fix available so no biggy, but just a bad sign of things to come. My existing machines will NOT be upgraded, but anything new I put together/buy will probably be with a newer OS.

For the moment it was I have on hand. My budget was tight and the harware cost me about $500 all together. That and the $500 I spent on ELK hardware last month basically kills my budget for a while.

Later on I will change it if need be.

I want a *nix solution, preferrably RTOS. Maybe QNX. Maybe I have spent too much time in manufacturing process control, nah.
