Does anyone have any suggestions for a wireless sensor that will work with the ELK Wireless receiver? I need something that can detect cars or people entering a private street. The distance across the street is about 45 feet, maybe further depending on where I mount the sensor.
Supposedly the ELK RF receiver has a range of 1000' line of sight with the ground plane antennas installed. The sensor will be placed about 600 feet from the receiver.
So, is a motion sensor the best option, or some sort of beam sensor? I'd like to be able to differentiate between cars and people, but I'm not quite sure how I would go about that. I don't have the option of digging up the road to put in an inductive sensor.
