Wiring a switch to Elk M1 input

The one Im using is a toggle switch.

You don't need to concern yourself with switch bounce. Just define the switch either NO or NC and program your rules accordingly. I do not know exactly what you are trying to do but you can look at the state of this switch(zone) and use it in your rules when deciding on an action to take.

One more thing -
 
If you make the zone NormallyOpen then closed will be considered to be violated or alarmed by the Elk and visa versa.

If you still have delays after that, you may need to move the input to  your main board as there is some additional delay added by using an M1XIN on the bus.
