With the ELK, to arm/disarm two zones seperatly, do you need two keypads?

With the ELK m1 Gold, if you have two zones (upstairs and downstairs) and you want it that sometimes you disarm one and not the other and sometimes both. Do you need two seperate keypads? If yes, do you need two even if your are using the M1KPNAV keypad?

I suppose you are talking about areas instead of zones. There are two ways to arm different areas from a single keypad:

1. With area names turned on, press the ELK key and option 0 (zero). This allows you to manually arm and disarm other areas from a single keypad.
2. Write a Rule so that a special user code will arm the multiple areas.

I have used rules that arm areas based on arming modes before with success as well.
