CONNECTIONS, Burlingame, CA, May 11, 2005?Xanboo, makers of the Xanboo SmartHome system for monitoring and controlling homes and businesses, and Zensys, makers of Z-Wave, the two-way, wireless, mesh network communications technology, today announced they are jointly developing a low cost USB controller. This will enable Xanboo system users to add a variety of Z-Wave enabled devices to their current device line-up.
The new Xanboo Z-Wave USB controller will work seamlessly with Xanboo's Connected Home Operating System and Software Platform, which enables users to easily control devices in the home locally and/or remotely.
In addition to developing a USB Controller for Z-Wave enabled products, Xanboo will work with existing Zensys customers to quickly and cost-effectively bring multiple Z-Wave-enabled products, such as wireless sensors, cameras, and lighting controls, to market.
Production of new Z-Wave enabled home control products will occur at Xanboo's 90,000 sq ft ISO9000 sub-contract engineering and manufacturing facility in Shenzhen, China.
'We feel the timing is ideal to add support for third-party devices and technologies, such as Z-Wave, into the Xanboo Connected Home Operating System and Software Platform,'said Bill Diamond, President of Xanboo.
