Zone trouble - trouble shooting trouble :-)

I have an OmniPro II. A zone with 2 GE CO sensors is showing trouble. EOL resister is in place and both sensors seem to be working. Loop value is 161. Should that not be OK?

1. Are these 2 or 4 wire devices?

2. What zones are these devices connected to?

In general, a 161 would be a trouble indication for a NO zone with 1K EOL resistor installed. If you remove the device wiring from the zone input and just strap a 1K, 1/2 watt resistor across the contacts of the zone (+ to -), what sort of loop reading do you get? It should read approximately 145-148. If the resistor by itself works properly, you have some sort of wiring issue.

I am getting a read of 149 with my GE CO 4-wire sensors. The three I have connected have a 1K EOL resistor. Pending now though for my CO detectors is installation of a power supervisory relay and a polarity reversal module. I noticed the other day that you need both just having purchased the power supervisory relay.

finally had some time to trouble shoot. for some reason, i put an EOL on that zone at the panel (with one in place at the CO sensor) :)
