I have 3 sliding glass doors in my house (not as fancy as it sounds). I have door contacts for my ADT system but I want a way to indicate if the lock is latched. I'm using a simple Vera controller and I'm designing a way to arm the system from Vera and have the system indicate to the user if the doors are unlocked.
These doors have simple turn nobs that turn the latch into the jamb. The idea being having the latch hit the plunger. I've seen one's that work with DSC, GE and 2GIG but no zwave. I've seen Aeon's recessed door contact switch but I can't mount a magnet to the latch.
I'd prefer not to have to bridge systems, as the price goes up, I'm better off replacing the door with one that takes a locking system I can automate easier. Any ideas?
