Just recently my ELK M1 Gold start to have a mind of its own. Intermittently when pressing the arm button on any of my 4 M1KPNAV keypads the alarm system doesn't arm and the system announces "Area 1 Disarmed". This happens when attempting to arm the system in any mode, EXIT, STAY, NIGHT, etc...

Bingo john you were right! Didn't matter which definition I used it would only work if I listed the zone violation first in the rule and that it was in the alarm mode in the second statement. Thanks for your help!

Good call! I'll check that next. Like I said it works with the other 3 KPNAV's. However I haven't checked the wiring by changing around the heads, good idea! I'll try it this weekend!

Sorry it took me so long to respond back but I have been out of town. Unfortunately after checking for the jumper I have discovered it has already been removed so that does not appear to be the culprit. Any other suggestions? 

Where is the terminating jumper located on the M1KP?

The system is an ELK-M1G and yes I did change the address to the appropriate pad number. Number 5 for the first time I tried it. Just seems bizarre that it is only this one M1KPNAV that causes this issue but works fine when it is used with the other 3,  M1KPNAV installed on the M1DBH.

Bingo wuench! That was the problem. Key pad was set to chime only and not voice and chime. Must have been changed by accident by the kids. Thanks for the help everyone!

Thanks for the comments! I think i'm going to rethink my idea of having the alarm system turn off when the correct key code is entered. I'll keep you guys posted what I do! 

None, other than you have to put the right code in for the door to unlock.
