    Thin automated light switches

Thank you. Just found the release of Matter and was reading up on it. I hadn't thought about adding a relay to a standard switch, that will work for the two switches I need to put under the cabinets. I like a single technology for the simple reason that I don't need Homeseer to connect the...

    Thin automated light switches

I have around 50 UPB switches, but remodelling my kitchen and house. I am open to keeping what I have, changing, or adding a technology. Homeseer is also part of the house. Currently I am mounting my switches underneath my kitchen cabinets. The electrical box chosen to keep them thin has...

Omni Pro - Garage Door Trips because the W is slow

30 seconds at the moment, I really like your countdown idea...which also helps me rationalize garage speakers :) You bring up two other options which I am also interested in, but don't quite follow.  When you say "tie in" to bypass the door zone for a period can you give me a little better hint...

Omni Pro - Garage Door Trips because the W is slow

Well maybe it just isn't her, but between chasing our 2.5yr old, trying to grab the baby seat out of the other side even the x4 entry delay doesn't seem to be enough. I am only in "test" mode at the moment (ie haven't subscribed to a service since the install last week) but was wondering what...

    CQC Automation and House Remodel -- I need to choose a thermostat ( RCS-2000 / Aprilaire 8870 )

Finally won three of the TR40's. $140. Thank you for the recommendation, I now have money to spend on other HA fun :P

Turning off multiple lights using M1XSP and Vizia+ VRCOP

Perhaps this is an ignorant answer, but couldn't you use a link for that purpose? I think this would mean that you would then have to poll the devices afterwards to figure out what state they are in, but it should allow you to manipulate multiple devices. Currently this is what I am doing in...

Best preactices for UPB switch to control 1/2 hot outlets

Exactly why this is SAFER than the Lutron, on top of that IMO CE >> UL when it comes to safety. I'd love to see you put a normal plug into one of these:

    CQC Automation and House Remodel -- I need to choose a thermostat ( RCS-2000 / Aprilaire 8870 )

You've convinced me....and made it easy as the retrofit should be pretty simple in particular since my CQC computer is in the furnace room ;)

Best preactices for UPB switch to control 1/2 hot outlets

To keep things cheap, my plan is to wire a European outlet right above my normal outlets. Then I only have to put Euro plugs on the lamps I am plugging in. Sure it won't meet code, but no one that I know of carries a converter in their pocket so it should keep any stupid mistakes from...

Sensing audio noise and notifying me

If you didn't "need" to know exactly which room the sound came through you could run the microphones into a cheap mixing board and have a single output to a pc.

    CQC Automation and House Remodel -- I need to choose a thermostat ( RCS-2000 / Aprilaire 8870 )

Thank you Ace & Paul as well. I appreciate the feedback. Considering that I have CQC though I think Sic's recommendation of saving me some money here is a must do. If there is anything I'd be missing though I am not opposed to spending the money. Any zone baffle recommendations? The...

    CQC Automation and House Remodel -- I need to choose a thermostat ( RCS-2000 / Aprilaire 8870 )

Love the P.S. Since I have 3 thermostats I assume that I would end up with three TR's and a ZCV4. Something along the lines of $75 * 3 for the 40's and $189 for the controller...which is about the price of two HAI's without a zone controller. I assume that this will then work stand alone if...

    CQC Automation and House Remodel -- I need to choose a thermostat ( RCS-2000 / Aprilaire 8870 )

Background: Currently I am running CQC as an entertainment and lighting controller but am ready to jump into temperature control and security. My furnace is on its last legs and with the advent of the tax break, I'd like to replace it. Considering this is upcoming I thought it was a logical...

4 way switch with UPB switches

How do you get the LED's on the switches to follow the "linked" load when you don't use a slave switch. I currently used 2 SW-7's (Web Mtn) on each end of my 3 way. The "slave" end which has no load connected is always lit up green. I couldn't figure out how to make it change in Upstart...
