Will Elk M1G and M1XSP work with PowerLinc Modem 2413S?

Thanks, BLH and wuench, for the very helpful replies!  Its good to have experts to lean on. I think you both verified my thinking about going with ISY.  I strongly agree with you, wuench, regarding Elk as a security platform alone.  Although I kinda like the Rules programming in Elk and have...

Will Elk M1G and M1XSP work with PowerLinc Modem 2413S?

So I guess I need to find out from Elk how I can continue to use my M1G with the dedicated M1XSP for my Insteon devices if there's no replacement for the PLC 2414S.   Anybody have any solutions?  Even if I rebuilt my existing PLC 2414S as described in the UDI forums, would it control the new...

Will Elk M1G and M1XSP work with PowerLinc Modem 2413S?

Please Help! After reading over 50 pages of forum posts on somewhat relevant topics, I've decided to come to you experts for help.  Unlike the many posts indicating VERY poor life of Insteon devices, I have a modest installation of about 30 devices and 25 of those are about 10 years old and...

    Elk RP triggers McAfee Quarantine

Thanks much for rapid response.  I went ahead and upgraded to latest ElkRP2.  No virus issues and no systems issues after install.  Simple and seemless process.  Will seriously consider your advice regarding dumping McAfee.  Thanks again.

    Elk RP triggers McAfee Quarantine

Have had Elk m1G for many years (DIY install) and have used RP regularly.  About six months ago McAfee identified the Elk RP as having a Trojan and quarantined the file.  Have had little help from McAfee in solving the problem.  To use RP now I simply turn off McAfee's Real-Time Scanning and...

Phone Fault - Line always seized - help

I had exact same problem as ProjectX reported except that my Ring to Tip voltage was 13.2V. My troubleshooting results are provided below. Is this sufficient to verify a board problem before I go to the trouble and down-time of returning the board for repair? BTW, I'm almost certain that mine...

    Acknowledge Alarm and Stop Dialout

ElkM1G Installed two new carbon monoxide sensors on zones 17 & 18; M1XIN connected through M1DBH; enrolled and functioning properly. Set Zone Definitions for CO sensors as 17. Immediately upon sending Zone definitions to M1G, system alarmed. I presume this is normal. Entering code at keypad...

    Elk M1G E-Mail setup

Thanks to much support from this forum and lots of fun (er-uh hard work), this newbie has the M1G completely installed with a host of sensors, M1XEP, expansion modules, power supplies, and some automation stuff, etc. Even have some pretty good rules written and tested. The install has actually...

How to ensure power supply is sufficient?

Along the original line of this thread, would an output from the P412K through a PD9HC be suitable for powering the ELK-XEP? This would give battery backup for the ethernet hub. The ELK-XEP comes with a wallwart transformer and a barrel connector to the XEP. Can I just take the barrel...

    Newbie question

For you pros, this may seem trivial, obvious, and a waste of time; but this kind of feedback is VERY important for us newbies. Even if we have just a little bit of experience with this stuff (mainly by trial and error) hearing from others helps. Thank you!!!

    Newbie question

This appears to be the crimp tool for the Scotchlok connectors. I was thinking about the "B connectors" or "Elk Beannies" as referred in above posts. the "Beannies" appear to require a simple crimp tool as used on spade/ring type connectors. Do the "Elk Beannies" require a special crimper?
