GE 45609 switch (z-wave) wiring Question

A non-dimming Z-wave switch that is compatible with CFLs does seem to be a rare beast. See this table: http://store.homesee...trix-W7C63.aspx. It appears that the Cooper RF9518 or the Leviton VRS05-1LZ might work. Sorry. Those switches say incandescent only.

Leviton Z-Wave: "NOTE: Matching remotes are for use with non RF devices only."

Thanks, I think I understand the wiring and just placed an order with you. PaulB, Thanks very much for the tip on compatible switches.

Leviton Z-Wave: "NOTE: Matching remotes are for use with non RF devices only."

Oh, I think I see how this works. The Yellow/Red wire from the switch just connects to the normal red traveler wire and the Red wire on the master dimmer switch is what goes to the load (light). The black wires don't "pass through" the switch as in a normal install, but are tied together to...

Leviton Z-Wave: "NOTE: Matching remotes are for use with non RF devices only."

No! I hadn't come across that option but it does look hopeful since the instructions don't have the limitation about RF devices. However, same question as above; will standard 4-way installs have a Red as well as a Yellow/Rd wire (or equivalent)?

Leviton Z-Wave: "NOTE: Matching remotes are for use with non RF devices only."

Is there a Z-wave controller that can be used with the "Leviton VP0SR-10Z - vizia + Coordinating Switch Remote w/o LED" (http://www.asihome.com/ASIshop/product_info.php?products_id=3348)? Is it the "Leviton VRI10-1LZ - vizia rf + 1000W Incandescent Dimmer"...

Leviton Z-Wave: "NOTE: Matching remotes are for use with non RF devices only."

Huh? I think I did my searches for the GE 45610 and that's why I didn't find your link. Too bad that it's almost as expensive as the combo pack, but at least it's an option. I haven't picked anything yet. I'll have to pick whatever works together, but since I need many more...

Leviton Z-Wave: "NOTE: Matching remotes are for use with non RF devices only."

I am trying to find Z-Wave switches that I can use for 3 switch (4-way) and 4 switch (5-way) circuits, but keep running into dead ends. I don't have the option of adding new wiring. I do have neutrals in all switch boxes. I thought I might be able to use Leviton VZ00R-1L matching dimmer...

    Difference between HA18C and HA18WD?

My understanding is that the Intermatic HomeSettings HA14C and WayneDalton HA14WD Z-wave wall switches are identical other than branding. Is the same not true for the HA18C and HA18WD? According to the specs and manuals I found, the HA18C can control both compact fluorescent and incandescent...

Is a Z-wave companion switch required for 3-way applications?

Thanks very much for the explanation. So for new construction, if my electrician wires 3-way circuits in the usual manner, will I be able to substitute any brand of Z-wave switches in the future or do I need to use a specific wiring method?

Is a Z-wave companion switch required for 3-way applications?

    1. Is a Z-wave companion switch required for installing 3-way lighting circuits with a standard Z-wave dimmer switch? I had assumed this was true, but installation instructions for the Intermatic HomeSettings HA14C and equivalent WayneDalton HA14WD at least imply that any standard 3-way...
