35A00-1CFL 600W Timed Auto Shut Off not working

Hello,
I used UpStart to configure my 35A00-1CFL switches with Auto Shut Off in options tab.  When I click on the switch the timer starts since I see the purple light blinking but it never turns off, it just goes on Infinitely.
Please let me know if there is something I should try.  I can use PCAccess if anyone thinks that is a better way to go.

To configure this you need UpStart.  Make sure you get the latest UpStart from PCS or Simply Automated.  For whatever reason, HAI/Leviton seems to have an old UpStart on its site.

I also didn't appreciate that Leviton just decided to make the LED flash magenta with no way to shut that off.  I think its pretty annoying.

I have version 7 build 21.   Below is the screen shot from UpStart.
My firmware version of the switch is 1.09.  My switches are HAI and UpStart is from Simply Automated.  Maybe this feature only works with Simply Automated switches.
I just used the following code, which isn't as good but good enough.

4.    WHEN 1ST FL BATH ON
THEN 1ST FLOOR BATH FLAG ON FOR 20 MINUTES
5.    WHEN 1ST FLOOR BATH FLAG OFF
            THEN 1ST FL BATH OFF

What settings are you using for the Rocker Switch Tab?
Can you post a screenshot?
I know the Simply Automated auto-off timer works when a link is received or when the rocker is pressed (both configurations independently selectable).
The HAI firmware may implement it a bit differently for the rocker switch press.

If you want to use the Omni Code instead, you can simplify it and not use a flag.

4. WHEN 1st Floor Bath ON
THEN 1st Floor Bath ON FOR 20 MINUTES

Should set an internal timer (which will reset each time the light is turned on) and automatically send an off command 20 minutes later.

I had this exact same problem with mine, and I gave up and disabled it.
I just tried mine, FW 1.09, and sure enough it also doesn't work.  Chalk it up to HAI quality control, or lack there of.

I was impressed with the HAI switches in that their time could be set to any minute amount from 1 to 240 where the Simply Automated times requires that you pick from some preset times, but the Simply Automated times also lets you set a different time for single and double clicks, and sends a link when the timer times-out.  I'm less impressed with the HAI timer switches now that i see that they don't actually work.

Here is the screenshot but this feature doesn't work.  If this is accually a defect, I am surprised it wasn't resolved.  Especially, given the price of these switches.

The HAI switches look to be made by PCS. Both HAI and PCS have the regular and CFL models. Additionally the Upstart layout is identical besides a few features missing for the HAI switches. If you set Upstart to work offline you can add any brand switch. The SA Upstart switch setting layouts are different from HAI and PCS.

The HAI CFL switches I have also have the auto time off issue where the light will flash. The PCS switch has the local action unsued for rock tap and double tap. HAI does not have this and this feature would be nice to be able to send a link without control the local switch.

I'm tempted to purchase the PCS non CFL version to see how they work. I never was a fan of the HAI CFL switch dimming curve with LED bulbs.

It seems like PCS, Simply Automated and HAI each has tried to differentiate their product from the others. When you really start digging, there are really lots of differences between the three lines. LEDs look different, what they control (LED, CFL, relay, etc. ) is segmented deferentially, how they operate is different, etc.  I'm sure that the business geniuses at these companies that this would be a great plan, to me it seems like a big mess.

HAI makes relay switches, which you need to control an outlet correctly, SA doesn't.  SA came out with a kludged ceiling fan switch, which others don't have.  SA has one switch which dims or not, HAI has one for CFL/LED and another for incandescent although they never seem clear what the difference between them is, and both CAN control any type.  (I have both types from HAI, CFL/LED and non-CFL, and honestly, the differences between them is minimal at best. The LED one seems to dim LEDs slightly lower before they flicker out, but the difference seems minimal at best.)

I suspect that the HAI timer issue is a UPStart bug, but I don't know for sure.  Probably UPStart changed, and it broke this feature, and nobody from HAI bothered to do any testing.

I guess its good many years later that all three lines are still are still while they split a rather limited market, but it sure would be nice of they could unify things.  The real competitors are not each other but rather Z-Wave, RadioRA, Zigbee, etc.

I believe I still have a few older versions of UPStart (Simply Automated version) archived.

It might be worth a try to try the timer with it.  I can only assume the HAI timer function worked with at least ONE version of UPStart, unless HAI was selling switches that just didn't work.  If you go HAI's site they seem to have a version of UPStart that is version 4.6, PCS and SA have the version 7 version.
