Any Members in Southwest Michigan Area That Can Lend a Hand?

I have an ELK M1 Gold system that I purchased new 7 years ago for a new home I was building.  This is of course one of those instances where I had the equipment but did not get it installed until years after I purchased it.

I am having trouble with the setup of the system.  I am having issues with the keypads (one of them seems to work fine, but the other just shows Lost Comm) and the siren constantly alarms as soon as I turn on the system.

I am hoping there is someone in the Southwest Michigan area that may be able to lend a hand and if not, could direct me to a professional in the area.

Sounds like you need to address the second keypad or possibly data wiring.

You can leave the siren disconnected until you have it programmed and functioning properly.

I am trouble shooting the second keypad.  I found that I had two of the wires in the RJ-45 connection (I am using the data hub) mixed up.  I fixed that, but it still shows Lost Comm.  Being that the wires were mixed up when I first hooked up the system, would I need to "un-enroll" the keypad and re-enroll it or does that happen automatically?  I did change the Keypad address to 2 vice 1 for that keypad.

Also, does a low battery cause the alarm to sound?  Being that the battery is 7 years old, I would assume that needs to be replaced as the Keypad that does work shows low battery on it.

One other thing, I have not been able to connect the M1 to my computer yet as I am waiting on a Serial to USB cable that should be here Thursday.  Should I be able to hook up that Keypads and get them working without doing anything with the software?

I was able to go through the working keypad and un-enroll/re-enroll the bus and it found both keypads, so now both keypads are working.  Now I just need to get the alarm to stop constantly alarming.  I definately need to learn a whole lot more about all the features and options.  Hopefully using the software will make this much easier. :D

More details would need to be known as to why the siren is going off...could be multiple items including zones in alarm or other items.

Your battery is garbage.
