Anyone interested in all in one counter top touchscreen units?

Both are the BMC model I believe, the one that says Seepoint on the backplane, and has the bios that looks like the pictures you posted above.

Excellent! That leaves me some hope, unlikely as it is, that maybe both of my machines could have bad ram. The most simple "smoke test" to see if your machines are indeed "flawless", (You said XP SP3 right?) would be to open the Windows "Security Center". Both of mine reboot when doing this.

Would you mind trying this?

Just tried on the computer in the kitchen, which has been up and running for the last two days. Opens the security center just fine, though it's complaining about not getting automatic updates. :-) The other system is in the basement and would need to be booted up just for that, so I'll double check on that machine the next time I'm down there.

Mine are running W2K quite happily- I'll leave them on overnight, haven't had any extended runtime yet.

Motherboards in mine are DFI ST2K-E. While the Seepoint serials are way off, I ended up with consecutive MAC addresses. How weird is that?!!?

The one of mine that keeps rebooting is the Seapoint w/ Whizpro. First noticed it when trying to access Windows Security Center, and then happens randomly w/ IE. I could see heat being an issue as my fans aren't working great. XP SP2 is installed.

Other one is of the other type, and is working fine w/o problems or rebooting.

I really havnt had a lot of time to work with mine as I have been busy with work and getting these around for shipping. One of my friends picked a couple up last week and has done a lot more playing around with them than I have so I just gave him a call. He said that he had a couple of the BMC units that were rebooting and the solution that he came up with was swapping the cpu. Not sure how that makes sense especially since he just swapped them between the 2 units he had but maybe they just werent seated well? Hopefully tomorrow I will have time to play around with 2 of them I have here in my office and see if they reboot when opening the security center. I wonder what windows is trying to do at that point that could cause them to reboot...

I do still have a bunch of them here and even more spare parts so if you do end up needing something just send me a PM and I will try to take care of you.

Running the Seepoint unit here... with XP-SP3 and no reboot issues. Although I have turned off Automatic Updates for now. But no problems with opening and configuring Security Center.

There are a few things that wil cause them to reboot with consistency. Try to use them as a "normal" PC (Web browsing with IE, Installing HA package, Homeser / HS Touch) for an hour - if they don't reboot by then, you are probably golden.

The security center and the simple act of browsing to www.elotouch.com with Internet Explorer are 100% rebooters for these 2 machines. It it not heat related as this will occur after first powerup (Plus all fans are running strong). Pegging processor @ 100% for hours doesn't phase them. Running memtest 86 continuously won't kill them either.

The fact that they won't reboot unless you are actually using them to do certain tasks, and Flash is a sure fire killer, I was leaning towards video as the culprit. Now with this report of processor swap as a fix, I can't wait to try it. At this point I have so many hours in this, I will try anything to get them working.

Probably not heat related - mine aren't. The IE reboots probably aren't random either - You will find it involves mainly sites with Flash. This is whether or not you actually manage to get flash installed or not - doesn't matter. Yeah - security center is the non-IE killer so far. If your other machine doesn't reboot on either security center or have Flash problems, it is probably good to go. Which model is your good one?

Cool! Do you know how much ram is in yours? And one stick or two?

It has 512 MB. Not sure how many sticks. I did not look when I had it opened. I'll look later today. By the way, Flash is running fine. I will test Flash some more later also.

Sounds like you are golden... Strange thing about the "BCM" boards is that the BIOS reports 3 memory slots & there are only 2 physical. Also if you run the memory tool @ crucial.com they say max supported ram is 512 MB and maximum per memory slot is 256K. Interesting, because my two machines have single 512 sticks.

I just added a pricing update the the FS post but basicly anyone that wants additional units can have them for $75 each plus shipping. I am going to try to get a count when I go home for lunch of how many are left. I am also already setting aside a couple of each style for parts incase some are needed to get them all up and running properly.

Just curious, can you try updating directX? I don't seem to have the same issues you are...but then again, I put DX9 on my machine...I went to the Elo website with both FF portable (I think it's 3.6) and IE5,6 (did not go any further).

I also put .NET 1.1,2,tried 3, but wouldn't install as Win2k is not XP...at least in M$'s mind...
