Automated locks

Just an update, the above statement is false. Nexia is working with other manufacturers now on a way to update by using "their" controllers.
They wouldn't say which manufacturers, or which controllers, or even give a timeline but it's still positive news to me.

So in other words, the statement is still true today, but that may change in the future?  The email I received from Nexia support suggested that only the Nexia bridge may be used, and a post today on the micasa forum states that the upgrade can't be performed via any controller yet, but the Nexia bridge will be the first with the capability.

I think what they said is they can't do it 'yet'. when I spoke with them, they said "the firmware will be available on the website."
I said, "What site?"
Then she asked if I was using Nexia or another controller, I told her a Leviton VRC0P and she said They're working with other manufacturers and the firmware will be available to Nexia users when it's ready, then to other manufacturers.
So it will work with the Nexia bridge, just not yet.

So, might be a bit pre-emptive to say my statement is "false".

If you need that kind of validation then sure. It's false now. they are working on it now.
Feel better?

Whatever say, man.  If you think that the statement "To upgrade, you either need to ship the lock back to Schlage or upgrade via Nexia bridge" is false NOW, then maybe explain the steps to perform the firmware upgrade NOW without shipping the locks.

Honestly, I just think the word "false" was unnecessarily strong, and doesn't convey that what I said was based on available information at the time.  All you needed to do was state that you have updated information.

Like I said, whatever makes you feel better. Didn't mean to bruise your precious ego.
If you read my post, it starts with 'as an update', Hmmm.

For anyone else who owns this lock, you will not need to send it back, nor will you need to buy a bridge. If that happens in a day or a month, I don't care. I know it will happen.
