System is OmniPro II, 3.2b.
I recently added a card reader to replace a data chip reader that has been in use for years.
When we swipe a card, the reader blinks RED-GREEN-RED-GREEN then goes all RED.
(even though the system is disarmed).
The door does NOT unlock.
Then, swiping a second time within 5 seconds, the reader changes to GREEN and the door unlocks.
I know this cannot be correct operation.
I need to know if this is a defective reader, a problem with the firmware, or what.
I've tried programming the reader for "arm / disarm yes and no", changing the open time, nothing helps.
Also, each read writes an event log entry of ACCESS GRANTED.
