For a regular plug-in type vacuum, why not just put an appliance module on the end of the cord to turn it off?

I have an earlier Roomba and have stopped using it for now. It's good for houses that don't have heavy pet hair or a lot of larger items on the floor. With tropical birds, I get shells and seed casings on the tile floor, and the Roomba can't deal with them as they are too large for it. The Roomba is good for dust and dust bunnies, and a little pet hair. It can eaisly handle my cat's shedding. for example. I'll hand on to it for now as I'm trying to sellt he birds and will be moving to a new home soon. We'll see if it works out there.
