Elk Phone line issues

I have finally connected the Phone line to the Elk. After connecting the phone lines work fine. When I try to connect to the Elk through the house phones using *** , it connects and seizes the line but I hear no voice over the phone line and it finally times out and returns to a dial tone. If using rules I write a rule to call my phone it again seizes the line but does nothing else, then times out and again I get a dial tone. Have I forgotten something in the setup??

You may have the input and output of the phone line reversed... please check that also Globals G01-G05 there is a setting to enable local control..

Phone lines indeed were reversed. Simple mistake by hurrying. Thanks for the reply.
