I too am experiencing the same problem with Windows 8, so I hope they come up with a solution soon. Everything else works on my computer, ElkRP.

ElkRP software is notorious for not working on newer OS. I bricked an Elk main board trying to flash it on Win7. I have a WinXP VM specifically for the ElkRP software.

I hope Elk will fix this, but the Windows XP VM sounds reasonable.  However, I don't want to buy a copy of XP JUST to run ElkRP in a Hypervisor!

Windows 8 secure connections for ELKRP are in the process of being updated.  The next ELKRP software update will have Windows 8 secure connections included.

Woo-Hoo!   I can confirm that 2.0.18 works for me too!  The Secure Port 2601 now works as it used to!
